Hello everyone! I thought the best way to kick off my first fashion post, would be to dedicate it to last month’s Paris Fashion Week. Paris Fashion Week is always widely anticipated due to the designers that present their collections there and also because it’s Paris. 

This Fall/Winter presentation in Paris definitely did not disappoint. A common theme throughout the collections included a strong representation of women, bohemian silhouettes and variations of florals. There were many standout moments, from whimsical venues to unique futuristic looks. Some collections embodied fall, while others channeled spring with their designs.

It was so hard to narrow down a whole week of shows, but these were some of my favorites.

¡Hola todos! Creí que la mejor manera de comenzar mi primera publicación de moda, fuera dedicarlo al Paris Fashion Week que se llevo acabo el mes pasado. La semana de moda de Paris (Paris Fashion Week) es siempre muy anticipada por el tipo de diseñadores que presentan sus colecciones ahi y también porque simplemente es Paris. 

Esta presentación de Otoño/Invierno en Paris definitivamente no nos decepcionó. El tema común que se vio en las colecciones era una fuerte representaciones de la mujer, siluetas bohemias y variaciones de florales. Hubieron muchos momentos estelares, incluyendo pasarelas asombrosas y “looks” futurísticos. Algunas colecciones personificaban otoño, mientras otras canalizaban la primavera con sus diseños. 

Fue muy difícil escoger mis “top” colecciones de toda la semana, pero estos fueron algunos de mis favoritos. 

Chloé
Venue: Maison de la Radio

This collection marked creative director’s Natacha Ramsa-Levi’s second collection for Chloé. Her inspiration for the patterned prints stemmed from the Chloé archives. The collection consisted of boho vibes featuring flares, silk and plunging v-necks. The accessories that adorned the looks included long necklaces that accentuated the plunging necklines and statement cuff bracelets.

Esta colección marco la segunda colección de la directora creativa Natacha Ramsa-Levi para Chloé. Su inspiración para los estampados de la colección vino de los archivos de Chloé. La colección consistía de “looks” bohemios, pantalones acampanados, blusas de seda y escotes profundos. Los accesorios que adornaban los looks incluían collares largos que acentuaban los escotes y brazaletes.

 

Altuzarra
Venue: La Coupole

This collection marked designer Joseph Altuzarra’s second collection in Paris. Altuzarra’s collection consisted of romantic square necklines, knits, coats and suits. The show was showcased in one of Paris’ famous brasserie, La Coupole. Everything looked so cohesive with the collection’s color palette and colors of the brasserie. Altuzarra’s inspiration was that he “wanted to make things that my friends and women I know want to wear.”

Esta colección marco la se segunda colección del diseñador Joseph Altuzarra en Paris. La colección de Altuzarra consistia de escotes románticos cuadrados, tejidos gruesos y trajes. El desfile se llevo acabo en una cervecería famosa de Paris, La Coupole. Todo lucia muy cohesivo, los colores de la colección coincidían con la famosa cervecería. La inspiración de Altuzarra era, “hacer diseños que mis amigas y mujeres que conozco quisieran ponerse.” 

 

Elie Saab 
Venue: Grand Palais

Elie Saab has been one of my favorite designers for the longest time. His collections always manage to feature romantic, feminine and elegant looks. This collection consisted of beautiful tiered dresses with floral embellishments, pussy bows, dramatic sleeves and high collars. The collection went by the name Bouquets d’Hiver and the inspiration for this collection was to create “a collection that exudes dark romance.” That was exactly what was conveyed in the runway with the music that was playing (Nirvana & Radiohead) and the accessories selection that accentuated the “dark” in comparison to the feminine designs of the collection. The accessories that were featured included skinny long neck scarves, top hats and sunglasses. I absolutely loved everything about this collection!  

Elie Saab por mucho tiempo ha sido uno de mis diseñadores favoritos. Sus colecciones siempre demuestran looks románticos, femeninos y elegantes. Esta colección consistía de vestidos hermosos de holanes escalonados con detalles florales, moños llamativos, mangas dramáticas y cuellos altos. La colección se llamo “Bouquets d’Hiver” y la motivación principal de esta colección era crear “una colección que exuda romance oscuro.” Eso fue exactamente lo que se transmitió en la pasarela con la música que tocaba en el fondo (Nirvana y Radiohead) y la selección de accesorios que resaltaban el aspecto “oscuro” mientras los diseños de la colección eran femeninos. Los accesorios que adornaban los looks incluían fulares estrechos, sombreros de copa y gafas de sol. ¡Me encanto absolutamente todos de esta colección!

 

Valentino
Venue: Hôtel des Invalides

This collection gave us major spring vibes with the floral designs. The designs included a variety of florals, scalloped edges and very colorful. The collection had floral designs for every occasion. While not all the designs featured floral prints, they still managed to mimic blooms with scalloped details and how “flowy” the gowns were. The collection was absolutely breath taking. 

La colección de Valentino nos dio un ambiente primaveral con sus diseños florales. Los diseños incorporaban una variedad de florales, bordes festoneados y lleno de color. La colección proveyó un rango de diferentes looks para diferentes ocasiones. Mientras todos los diseños no tenían estampados florales, aun simulaban floraciones debido a los detalles festoneados y el moviendo de los vestidos. La colección estuvo absolutamente maravillosa. 

 

Chanel 
Venue: Grand Palais

Paris fashion week wouldn’t be complete without Chanel. Chanel every year manages to create stunning shows and this year was no exception. Once again, the show was held at the Grand Palais where it was transformed into a whimsical forest. It was the perfect setting for a fall/winter collection. The collection consisted of the signature classic tweed, puffer jackets and metallic leave prints. Only Chanel can make puffer jackets look so incredibly chic. As part of the forest theme, models carried chic purses in shapes of logs.

Paris Fashion Week no seria completa sin Chanel. Chanel cada año crea desfiles impresionantes y este año no fue la excepción. El defile se llevo acabo otra vez en el Grand Palais donde fue transformado en un bosque encantado. Fue el lugar ideal para una colección de otoño/invierno. La colección consistía del clásico “tweed,” chamarras y estampados de hojas metálicas. Solamente Chanel puede hacer chamarras verse muy chic. Parte del tema de bosque, las modelos cargaban chic bolsos en forma de troncos. 

 

Louis Vuitton 
Venue: Musee du Louvre

Louis Vuitton was one of the last shows to wrap up Paris Fashion Week and it did it with style. The show took place in a courtyard that had been closed down for years at the Louvre. The theme of the collection was “past meets future.” The looks and runway had a very futuristic vibe. The looks included structured sweaters, a-line skirts and separates that could easily be mixed with others. Nicolas Ghesquière’s inspiration for the collection stemmed from the women he grew up with and their style.

Louis Vuitton fue uno de los últimos desfiles de PFW y lo hizo con estilo. El desfile se llevo acabo en un patio del museo Louvre que había estado cerrado al publico por muchos años. El tema de la colección era “pasado encuentra futuro.” Los looks y la pasarela tenían ambiente futurístico. Los looks incluían sueteres estructurados, faldas línea A y piezas que se podían combinar fácilmente. La inspiración de Nicolas Ghesquière, el director creativo de Louis Vuitton, vino de las mujeres de su crianza y sus estilos.
